Research-grade engineering available to industry. For teams building hardware in extreme environments.
We operate where standard falls short. Your challenge is unique, so is the engineering we provide.
You have a scientific or technical challenge that requires hardware. Your team knows the science. The engineering — the CAD, the simulations, the test rigs, the validation — is slowing everything down.
That's the problem we solve. We take the engineering off your plate so you can focus on what you're actually there to do.
We adapt to the project needs — providing exactly what's needed, when it's needed.
We map the risks and define a clear strategy before committing to further work:
· Feasibility assessment
· Risk register
· Scoped plan
We deliver the engineering work your project needs:
· 3D CAD and technical drawings
· Multiphysics simulations
· Technical documentation
· Realistic renders and animations for pitching or funding
We manage the project without disrupting your internal team:
· Supplier coordination
· Fabrication management
Engineer working at the intersection of research and applied engineering. I founded C2E to help researchers and technology builders move from concept to evidence without being slowed down by engineering uncertainty.
My background is experimental. Before C2E I worked at Renaissance Fusion (private fusion technology), at ALBA Synchrotron (large-scale research infrastructure), and completed an experimental PhD in aero-engine tribology in collaboration with Rolls-Royce.
Rolls-Royce had identified stator contacts as a fuel saving technology. It was early stages of research and no one had provided laboratory results before in representative in-engine environment. The concept was solid; the evidence needed.

"Julian's project brought significant challenges, and also delivered transformative impact. He met these challenges admirably, creating a research approach that both achieved the desired outcomes, and provided a platform to develop this topic area in the long-term."
One conversation to assess fit. We'll tell you directly whether we can help and what that looks like.
